Where History Meets Innovation

Welcome to Cordage Commerce Center

The sprawling 55-acre property was founded in 1824 by the Plymouth Cordage Company.
Since its days as a rope factory, it has had multiple restorations and Cordage Commerce Center now makes up the office portion of what is locally known as Cordage Park and is part of the larger Plymouth Station Development.  The campus is made up of approximately 300,000 square feet of mixed-use office buildings, just 2 miles north of Plymouth’s Town Center and overlooks Plymouth and Kingston Bays. Cordage Commerce Center offers a diverse blend of leasing options that provides opportunity for an array of industries.

OUR HISTORY

The Plymouth Cordage Museum, located at the main tower entrance of Building 10, speaks to the heritage of what is now Cordage Commerce Center and Plymouth Station.  During its tenure, the Plymouth Cordage Company grew to become the world's largest manufacturer of rope, cord, and twine.  Sailing ships from all points of the compass relied on the superb craftsmanship that characterized the Cordage Company's products. In the early 1900's, the company was honored by the US Navy, to furnish all the lines for the country's most revered ship, the USS Constitution. Old Ironsides, as she was often referred to, can still be visited at the USS Constitution Museum in Boston.

During its 140 years of continuous production, the Cordage Company had a profound effect on the economic and social development of the Plymouth community as the town's largest employer. With company housing, a library, sports teams, social events and its own newspaper, the Cordage Company provided a standard of excellence and fostered a deep sense of personal growth and pride.
